While the Panvel tehsildar has submitted a report to Raigad collectorate listing 32 plots owned by Mehul Choksi or associates, it has come to light that he bought the land parcels to set up a SEZ for Gitanjali Gems Ltd (GGL), but intended to sell them at a profit once prices rose. Of the 27-acre parcels in Panvel, 27 are under Choksi’s name.
