The current tax slabs of 20% tax on income between Rs5-10 lakh and 30% tax on earnings of over Rs 10 lakh would continue in the next fiscal year beginning April 1 2019. A tax rebate for individual taxpayers earning up to Rs 5 lakh has been announced but those who are earning more than Rs 5 lakh will have shell out the tax at the same rate as before.
